DE ANGELIS (2001)


This is a sacred mess performed by SCHOLA CANTORUM RIGA and RAIMONDS TIGULS, who has enriched this classic a capella chant with contemporary coloured sound. This album is based on traditional Gregorian chants and is dedicated to a theme that has been surrounded by mystery in all times but has nevertheless always seemed close to many people - to angels. This composition was created in the 15th century. You can also hear the Michaelmas chant, a much earlier composition written circa the 9th century; it belongs to the most beautiful medieval chants.
